IBPS SO CWE-III Exam 2014 Detailed Syllabus (Specialist Officer 2014 Exam syllabus)

IBPS exam is one of the most popular banking exams in India. IBPS has recently started online application process for CWE specialist officer 2014 exam. Candidates can read the official notification and application process here. For candidates, who have already applied for the exam, I would like to share some important exam news. IBPS CWE-III SO 2014 exam is scheduled for Feb 8 and 9, 2014. Here, I am going to share a detailed syllabus for the exam. Though IBPS doesn’t specify subject-wise syllabus, but based on previous exams, we can prepare an estimated syllabus.

IBPS exam syllabus

IBPS SO paper will include four sections in the exam. Three of the sections including Reasoning, English Language and professional knowledge will be the same for all the posts. The fourth section will be different depending on the post you have applied for. Below is the detailed subject-wise syllabus for different posts.

Examination Syllabus for IT Officer scale I & II, Agricultural Field Officer scale I & II, HR/Personnel Officer scale I & II, Marketing Officer Scale I & II, Chartered Accountant Scale II & Manager Credit (Scale II)/ Finance Executive (Scale II) :-

English Language (Same for all): English language paper may include questions from following topics: Word Formation, Passage Correction, Theme detection, Sentence Correction, Spelling, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms and Phrases, Passage Completion and Conclusion

Reasoning (Same for all): Important topics for reasoning paper are Sitting Arrangement, Series Completion, Decision Making, Series Completion, Coding Decoding, Syllogism, Statement Reasoning, Analogy, Blood Relation, Analogy and Classification

Quantitative Aptitude: Aptitude paper is only for the above posts, and it will contain topics including Numbers, Simplification, Roots, Surds & Indices, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Stocks & Shares, Ratio & Proportion, Boats & Streams, Allegations , Average, Simple and Compound Interest, Clocks, Logarithms, Mensuration, Pipes & Cisterns, Volume & Surface Area, Probability, Heights & Distances Partnership, Chain Rule, Time & Work, Permutation & combination, Time & Distance, Problems on Trains, Tabulation, Bar Graphs, Line Graphs and Pie Charts

Professional Knowledge: Professional knowledge paper will be conducted for every post, but the syllabus will be different for each post. This paper will basically involve questions from professional knowledge, i.e. your qualification level questions.

For IT Officer post, you can expect questions from all major engineering subjects including Database Management (DBMS), Networking, Web Technologies, Basic Programming concepts, timer, Network Security, Basics of hardware (Microprocessor, ALU, etc. You can refer GATE syllabus for the same.

For other posts, professional knowledge paper will contain questions from the respective graduation subjects.

Examination Syllabus for Law Officer Scale I & II and Rajbhasha Adhikari Scale I posts :-

Syllabus of the Reasoning, English language and professional knowledge papers will be the same as above. General awareness syllabus is mentioned below.

General Awareness (Banking Awareness): General awareness section of IBPS SO exam will include questions to check the candidate’s general awareness about various things including Knowledge of current events, India and its neighboring countries, History, Geography, Indian Constitution, Economy, Culture, General Polity, Sports, Scientific Research, etc. You can expect at least 50% of the questions from Economy, Banking and Finance sector.

How to prepare for English Section of Bank Exams?

English language is one of the most common and the most important section of bank exams. Almost all major bank recruitment exams (IBPS SO, PO, Clerk, SBI, etc.) involve a paper of English language or verbal ability. Get familiar with the exam pattern and syllabus: Before you start with the preparation of English section, you must be aware of the subject-wise syllabus for the exam. Though most of the bank exams including IBPS do not reveal a specific list of the topics for particular subjects, but almost all banking exam papers cover the same English language topics. Start with the Exercise: Once you get a list of the topics, you should start with the practice papers. Practice sample questions for each topic and make a list of the topics at which you are not strong. Now, you have a filtered list of the topics that need to be revised. IBPS has recently issued its specialist officer exam 2014 (CWE SPL-III) notification, and online application process is also started from 25/11/2013. Candidates can apply online through the official website of IBPS. Candidates, who are going to appear in IBPS 2014 SPL-III exam, have got exactly two months for preparation. Gather Study material: The most important thing in any exam is the study material. You need not to go for different books for each subject. Just purchase a common IBPS exam book for all the subjects. Also, collect as many sample papers and question-answers you can find. Candidates, who are appearing for IT officer exam, can find a common book for professional knowledge paper. You can use subject specific books or reference books if you want help in a particular topic.

Make a study Plan: It is very important to have a strategy or plan of study. Many people start studying with great enthusiasm, but they end up getting bored without a proper plan. If you have a strategy, you will not likely deviate from your schedule. Make an effective plan to include all the subjects in specific time frames. Also, assign time for things other than study.

Be regular and strict: If you want to get success in life, you need to include some discipline in your routine. It is easy to make a plan, but not easy to follow it. Try to stay focused on your study plan and follow it strictly.

Practice more and more: Practice with sample question papers and mock tests whenever you get time. Once you finish a topic, go for practice question-answers. IBPS CWE Specialist Officer Exam III Online Application 2014

IBPS has issued online application forms for specialist officer exam. This is the third IBPS CWE specialist officer exam. The exam is to be conducted in February 2014 and online application process has been started from 25/11/2013 midnight and will continue till 14/12/2013. Online fees can be paid in between 25/11/2013 and 14/12/2013. There is no other method available for application.

IBPS had issued the notification for the examination around one month ago, and online application process has been started from 25th Nov 2013 midnight that will continue up to 14th Dec 2013.
